| The Smart Energy Living Alliance has begun Phase 2 to revitalize solar energy education for the schools that participated in the Solar Schools Program which was launched in 1998-99 by the Xcel Energy Renewable Trust. |

| SELA will accomplish the following during the 2007-08 school year:
- Upgrade hardware for solar systems.
- Connect the solar systems to a network so data is accessible on the web.
- Train teachers and staff how to access the data and teach solar lessons in the classroom.
- Establish ongoing communication that will keep teachers involved with the program.
- Raise awareness of solar energy and solar energy education with hundreds of students and their families.
- Raise awareness of this project with the other Solar Schools that are not currently participating.

- Horizon High School- Adams 12 Five Star Schools
- Vantage Point High School- Adams 12 Five Star Schools
- Century Middle School- Adams 12 Five Star Schools
- Isaac Newton Middle School-Littleton Public Schools
New Schools 2007-08:
- Maple Grove Elementary School- Jefferson County Schools
- Ralston Elementary School- Jefferson County
- Chatfield Senior High School- Jefferson County Schools
- Dakota Ridge Senior High School- Jefferson County Schools
- Ken Caryl Middle School- Jefferson County Schools
- Everitt Middle School- Jefferson County Schools
- 4 additional schools-TBD
