American Wind Energy Association
Wind Power Project Sitting Workshop
February 17 – 18, 2010
Westin Tabor Center
Denver, CO
With the 2008 record capacity addition of over 8500 megawatts of wind
energy in the U.S., proper siting of wind projects is essential to
helping wind energy maintain its “good neighbor” reputation. This
workshop’s program will address how wind project siting and elements of
the human and natural environment interconnect – including aesthetics,
stakeholder dynamics and wildlife interactions. Take advantage of this
great opportunity to network with other wind energy siting
professionals and to learn the latest on important and relevant siting
topics.

Adequate transmission is necessary to the expansion of wind energy.
Learn about the opportunities, potential solutions and challenges the
wind industry is facing as we work to overcome the transmission
barrier. This workshop will explore ways wind and transmission
companies can make more use of existing transmission capacity, work
through the logjams in interconnection queues, and expand transmission
capacity. It will also examine the roles that the U.S. Congress, FERC
and the Department of Energy can play in getting new transmission
planned, funded and permitted.
